Diabetic cat throwing up, grinding teeth, licking walls: Crisis?

Vomiting can be related to a number of different problems ranging from hairballs to serious problems like kidney disease. With her history I would be concerned that she could be diabetic again and need insulin therapy - vomiting can be a sign of a serious complication of diabetes known as ketoacidosis. I’d recommend seeing a vet if the vomiting continues or if Oreo won’t eat or seems very lethargic.

There is a common condition in cats known as hyperthyroidism. It frequently causes increased vocalizations. Grinding her teeth can be a sign of pain. I recommend to have Angel examined by her veterinarian today if possible. She may have a bad tooth or other type of infection causing discomfort. Additionally, older cats can be more susceptible to dehydration then younger cats. It’s best to be more aggressive with them treatment wise. Take him to the emergency vet right now. This is serious hypoglycemia and it could kill him. He may be in remission and may not need any more insulin. However this needs to be checked by a veterinarian. But for now it is very important that he be seen at the ER.

Usually stress in the environment doesn't cause vomiting in cats. I would be more concerned Simba could have another infection (Diabetes does predispose him to getting those) such as a urinary tract infection but cats can get gallbladder issues, pancreatitis or even liver infections. If this vomiting continues, Simba acts abnormal at all I recommend contacting your veterinarian to discuss rechecking him and maybe having blood work rechecked on him.

Diabetes could be an issue with your cat, especially if she has lost weight recently. Other diseases to consider include hyperthyroidism, renal failure, and cancer, all which could cause the symptoms you are describing. I would be concerned by the lack of normal urination in a diabetic pet - they are very prone to urinary tract infections due to higher than normal sugar content in their urine which can encourage bacterial infection. I strongly recommend a urine test to determine exactly what is going on. Your vet may have special cat litter to collect a urine sample or may be able to draw a sample directly from the bladder with a needle in order to investigate fully what is going on
