Is it safe to delay my indoor cat's flea and deworming treatment?

Yes, it is recommended to treat her but not as often as a cat that has access to the outside. i would probably recommend treating her once a year for fleas (before summer time) and once a year for worms as well, just to be on the safe side as fleas can brought from the outside by anyone that goes in and out of the house (and tapeworms are transmitted via fleas to your cat).

Yes it ia sbsolutely ok to treat her for fleas. I would use a spot on such as Advantage or frotnline Plus or similar spot ons. and you can get some Pyrantel Pamoate from your veterinarian to worm her (it is a liquid, that does not taste terrible) or a Drontal for cats tablet.

An indoor cat with no exposure should be dewormed at least every 6 months. He may not go outdoors, but you do and it is possible small mammals, namely rodents, may find their way inside the house. A topical flea and tick preventative should be used monthly all year round. Alternatively, you could use it during the Spring, Summer and Fall months.

There is a slight risk that the dewormer was contaminated. Monitor for signs of vomiting, diarrhea and lack of appetite. If she displays any of these then a trip to the veterinarian for treatment is recommended. Typically though the main issue is the medicine just isn't effective anymore and you can follow-up with a non-expired dewormer after waiting 24 hrs to make sure she has none of the signs mentioned above. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home.
