My cats don't like each other, and one won't bond with me. What to do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 3 lbs

I have Luna and Tora . Luna when tora comes she kinda isolate her self and go away . Tora in other hand doesn't love me instead she likes my friend. I took to much care of them but they don't appreciate it,do please help. I begun to lose faith with them. It's critical issue.

Your question doesn't really describe what is going on. If the cats are fearful of you, taking time to let them approach you, and making sure you're the one feeding them, etc, can help with bonding. A toy that can be played with from a distance, such as a feather on a stick or laser pointer can also help with bonding without stress. If they get stressed out from handling, taking a break is best.

If the cats are having trouble with each other, making sure they both have their own access to food, water, litter, etc can help avoid competition over resources. A pheromone diffuser such as Feli-way can also be plugged in to common rooms to help reduce stress.

She either is afraid of you or does not like you. You can try getting her used to you by sitting quietly in the same room with her without trying to touch her. Be the person that feeds her, once in a while give her cat nip and make sure she sees you putting the catnip down. All these are things that are nice for the cat and it may make her less afraid or like you more. Eventually she may come sit with you. Again, do not touch her, just be with her until she attempts to touch you. Never hold her down, force her to stay. This will take a lot of time, but the reward is waving at the end of the tunnel!

I'm sorry to hear Zombie doesn't get along with you. If you're busy at work all the time and unable to spend time with her, looking for someone that may be able to do so during the day, looking to get a second cat, or considering rehoming her if she isn't a good fit for your household are all possible ideas. My adopted cat is distant and won't let me pet him. How can I bond?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The main thing is trying to get him to associate you with something positive. You can try to find treats and things for him to eat that he really enjoys. You can get him to come out and feed him a treat while you pet him. This will most likely help if you stay consistent and persistent. It is important to note that some kitties are really not very affectionate and while he may become more social, he may never be a kitty who enjoys constant interaction. Some cats are simply more affectionate than others. I recommend not forcing any contact, as this can have a negative effect, but continue to offer toys and treats and try to play and interact. Over time Leo may become more affectionate, but he may not. I would recommend starting with giving them a very special treat and having it only come from you. That way they can associate you with food. you can even start feeding them every day so they associate you with positive things. After doing that you can try to initiate play with using a laser or even a special toy. Hopefully these two things will help decrease there anxiety. I hope that helps

Sorry to hear Luna isn't very social with you. Cats, just like people, are individuals. Some are very outgoing while others are reserved. It sounds like you are doing everything right. You can try different toys or calming agents (such as Feliway) but they may not cause any changes in her. She may still warm up over time.
