Why is my cat pooping yellow, toothpaste-like, and more often?

Sometimes even a simple diet switch from one food to another is enough to cause intestinal inflammation or bacterial imbalance and diarrhea in cats. Though his risk is low, it's also possible he could have an intestinal parasite (cannot be ruled out without a fecal test). You can try adding one tbsp of canned pumpkin to his diet for fiber. If he does not improve soon, it would be best to take him to a vet. Sometimes a short course of medication is necessary to resolve this type of diarrhea.

I am sorry to hear about Felix's stool problems! We can see loose stools or color changes in stool as a result of a change in food (even if you are feeding the same brand, a different flavor may have different ingredients or coloring agents). If Felix's energy level is normal and he has no vomiting, then you can try switching him back to his original food and seeing if his stools return to normal after a few days,or you can try picking up a probiotic at the pet store and see if this improves the stools. If these do not work, a trip to the vet is recommended (or if he starts vomiting/stops eating/is lethargic). In the future, if you want to switch foods it is recommended to do so gradually, slowly mixing the new food in with the old food.

The first and most common reason for it could dietary related. Other differentials may be parasite infestation and infective or inflammatory gastrointestinal disease. I would strongly recommend to start changing the diet (switch gradually over one week time), giving a bland one based on boiled chicken or white fish and rice/potatoes for a couple of weeks. If by then you will not notice any improvement,a check up and more investigations and/or treatment (antibiotic trial and parasite treatment) would be ideal. It sounds like Molly may be experiencing some diarrhea. This can be caused by intestinal parasites, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or a GI illness. When a cat has been having loose stools for more than 24 hours, it's time to see a vet. I would take Molly into a vet today, and bring along a sample of her stool for the vet to examine. The vet can diagnose what is causing this loose stool and can treat her for it.

In a close area it is easy for parasites to spread, especially if the cats use the same area to go potty. I would recommend taking 1-2 cats to the vet and bring fresh poop samples so they can look with a microscope. If none are found, they may need to send the sample to a lab to look for a more rare parasite called tritrichomonas. This is usually found in a larger cat group and can come and go but it isn’t as common. Once a diagnosis is made, they may be able to get medications to get the cats treated. I would also clean up stool as often as you can to decrease spreading and clean littler boxes with soap and water daily. Good luck!

Since Pickle's stools changed so abruptly I would be concerned. Ideally I would recommend you take him into the vet to be checked out or at least bringing in a fecal sample to be examined by the vet. Pickle may need some antibiotics to help clear up the diarrhea and/or a probiotic. Good luck.

Poor Venus! The most common cause of loose yellow or orange-colored stool in a kitten this age would be intestinal parasites. I would recommend first having her examined by a vet - he/she can take a fecal sample and check it under a microscope for parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, or coccidia. If any problems are found, they can also prescribe appropriate medication to treat the issue. In the meantime, you can try feeding her a bland diet of plain boiled chicken or chicken-flavored baby food to help settle her stomach until you are able to get her in to see the vet.
