My cat's nose and skin are yellow. Why is she not eating?

Your cat is seriously ill and needs to be seen by your veterinarian or in a pet hospital NOW. Your cat is jaundiced which points to serious liver disease. There is nothing you can do at home for this. The vet needs to examine your cat, do blood tests and possibly x rays, put your cat on iv fluids and medications needed for her condition. If she isn't eating well or if you see a yellow discoloration in the white of her eyes or on the inside of her ears where there isn't any hair then I would be concerned about liver issues. In this case, you should take Noodles in to see a vet ASAP. If the yellow spots are only seen in the areas in the pictures you sent I think this could be an allergy or reaction of some sort. Before seeing a vet I would recommend making sure all of her food and water bowls are either stainless steel or ceramic (not plastic). Some cats can have skin reactions to plastic bowls. The other thing that might you might need to think about is food allergy. It sounds as Jixie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get as it does sound serious, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

It sounds like your vet diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection. Depending on the virus that causes this, the signs can appear in the eyes, nose or mouth. There is a virus called calicivirus that can cause sneezing and ulcers in the mouth. These can be quite painful and make the cat not want to eat. I typically recommend feeding a canned diet so she can lap it up rather than chew it. A/D is a good diet for this. It is made by Hill's and is available by prescription through a veterinarian. I also will sometimes prescribe pain medication to keep them comfortable and eating while they have ulcers in their mouths. I would recommend calling your veterinarian in the morning to discuss these things. We don't want her to go too long without eating.

If she's congested, you can also try using a humidifier or bringing her into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections.
