These sound like wounds from being in a bad fight with another cat. It’s best to have these treated by your veterinarian if you can. In the meantime clean each wound with hydrogen peroxide and then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on them. I’m concerned about the ones around his anus. There may be a tear in the rectum that may be very serious and need a veterinary exam to determine if the feces are coming out the wound. If so this could cause more infection and may need to be stitched closed. Antibiotics will help these wounds heal more quickly also. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. This can also be a traumatic injury in which case it should improve. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests. Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

I would stop cleaning Moon Moon's sore with hydrogen peroxide. That's because it can actually damage tissues and interrupt the healing process. It is concerning that it's not healing, and the hydrogen peroxide could be part of the problem with it not healing. I would also refrain from putting Neosporin on it. Although quite safe on superficial wounds, cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. I think it would be a good idea to take her into the vet to have her wound examined. The vet can clean the cut, and may prescribe an antibiotic to help it heal if it's infected.

Be sure you are only cleaning as directed by her veterinarian. Some antiseptics or cleaners can inhibit healing. Do not use hydrogen peroxide to clean wounds daily.

Hello, thank you for your question about your cat. The symptoms and lesions that you are describing could be consistent with a cyst that has ruptured. If your cat is otherwise acting normally and doesn't seem sensitive about this lesion I would recommend continuing to monitor for resolution. It would be best if you could prevent her from licking at the sore as much as possible. If the sore does not heal, develops a colored/pus discharge, or a smell I would recommend having her evaluated by your veterinarian so that they can examine the sore and recommend other testing/treatments if needed.
