My cat won't move, pees on himself, and sleeps all day. Is he sick?

Mr. Peabody seems to be experiencing very general symptoms of illness, meaning this could be pretty much any disease. when cats behave this way it's usually because they feel very ill or are painful, and it's usually a sign of a serious condition. i strongly recommend that you take him to the vet in order to get it checked and treated ASAP.

Poor CJ! It sounds like he is in pain if he's walking slower, struggling to lay down and get up, and cannot bend to clean himself. I would be concerned that he has a problem with his neck or back. It possible he was injured. My advice is to rest him tonight, and take him into a vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose what is causing his pain, and can treat him for it. The vet can also prescribe pain medication as needed. Please do not give him any human pain medications, many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. Best of luck.

This sounds like a serious internal illness. You should take Growler in to your local ER vet right away for testing and medical care depending on what his condition is. Just about every disease process can cause these symptoms, including kidney disease, liver disease, an infection, and a bladder obstruction. Yes, this sounds like he’s in pain. He may have a bite wound you can’t see, or he could have a urinary obstruction. Just to be safe I recommend a veterinary exam right away. If it’s due to infection then they will treat him with antibiotics. If he has a urinary obstruction that can quickly become life threatening. A urinary blockage can cause kidney damage, and death in a day or two without treatment. It is a common emergency in male cats, so please bring him in today. Older cats do tend to sleep more than younger cats, but if this is a sudden increase in lethargy, then I would recommend that you have Smokey checked out by a vet. After a thorough physical exam, the vet will probably recommend bloodwork to check for internal medical illness, such as diabetes, infection, kidney disease, etc. If the bloodwork is normal, they may discuss changes that have occurred around the house, or may recommend a trial of pain medications in case Smokey is painful from arthritis.
