My cat is extremely weak, tired, not eating for days. Is he dying?

Hi,I've asked before about my cat been vomitting tired snd not eating I took him to the vet 3 times ,the vet did everything he could but my cat still not eating and his fatigue got worse he barely walk or open his eyes I'm scared please tell me is he dying? I can't stop crying watching him stands still not moving ps his paws and nose are srill pink and he is not cold to touch butdidn't eat for 6 days i keep feeding him only milk by the syringe and he fights me not to make him swallow it

Poor Boboom sounds very ill! I certainly hope he isn't dying, but without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. It's extremely serious he won't eat, and when a cat doesn't eat for more than 72 hours, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. He really should be with a vet now for intensive treatment, including IV fluids and appetite stimulants in order to have the best chance of survival. Please take him back into one now.

This is a medical emergency, and Wako has to see a vet now. When a cat doesn't eat for longer than 72 hours, they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. You need to take him into a vet immediately.

This is a medical emergency and Cesar has to see a vet now. It’s extremely serious when a cat won’t eat, and he’s at risk of developing a fatty liver. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment. Please take him into a vet now.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Tyr evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. I am afraid that he is becoming dehydrated. This is not expected to resolve on its own. When cats do not eat for too long they can develop a serious condition called hepatic lipidosis which is why prompt investigation and treatment is crucial. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

There can be many medical causes for decreased appetite, decreased thirst and lethargy. There is really nothing that can be done for at home for this without getting a diagnosis first from Bobo's veterinarian. I would recommend he see his veterinarian asap for an exam and evaluation. My cat is vomiting, lethargic, not drinking for 3 days. What's wrong?

Vomit is a symptoms usually referred to a problem located in the gastrointestinal system. It can be secondary to a dietary indiscretion. It could be caused by a stomach inflammation (gastritis) or if he is having soft feaces as well can be an upset of the whole gastrointestinal system. Pancreatitis might be another option and cannot be ruled out at this stage. Vomit can also be a secondary to systemic diseases (i.e. renal failure). If it's already 3 days and not improving I recommend a consultation with your veterinarian asap for a full health check. Bobo is not drinking therefore he might be dehydrated and possibly need hospitalization and fluidotherapy to restore the fluid losses. Poor guy. This sounds worrisome for sure. I would use some caution here and get Boba seen by your vet right away. He could have an underlying illness going on such as kidney disease that is causing his symptoms. The vet needs to do some bloodwork and a urinlaysis to start and try to find out what is causing him to be so ill. Why is my cat hiding, not eating, vomiting, and losing weight?

This is very serious. Cats often hide when they are ill. Bob needs to see a vet as soon as possible. You did not mention his age so it's difficult to give you an idea of what may be going on. If he is a young cat then he may have an intestinal obstruction. In an older cat the most likely causes for vomiting, hiding, weight loss and "bathroom" issues are: kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes and cancer. Regardless, he needs to see a vet. You can't let him go on suffering.

Poor Boboom! I would be afraid that he was injured while he was out, either by an animal or possibly a car. It's very concerning the symptoms you are describing, and I think the best thing for him is to take him into a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. This absolutely needs to be avoided, which is why he has to see a vet right away. Anorexia is a very general sign of illness, and it could be caused by many things such as dental problems, GI obstruction, systemic illness, kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease, infection, injury, or cancer for example.
