Why isn't my senior cat eating, drinking only water, and constipated?

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It sounds like your kitty is very ill. I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic (or his regular clinic tomorrow if an emergency clinic is not possible) for an exam and labwork. This could be something treatable (or at least manageable, if not curable) or it may not be. I would be worried about kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, cancer, and liver disease - it could definitely be other things too, but these are at the top of my list. It sounds as Bobo is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

There can be many medical causes for decreased appetite, decreased thirst and lethargy. There is really nothing that can be done for at home for this without getting a diagnosis first from Bobo's veterinarian. I would recommend he see his veterinarian asap for an exam and evaluation. He may need blood work, x-rays, or other diagnostics as needed. I hope this helps!

With the description and blood results, I worry about a condition known as hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease) or triaditis (inflammation of the pancreas, liver and small intestines). For fatty liver disease, a feeding tube is generally recommended to help bring cats out of this condition as nutritional support is key and extremely important in these cases. I would recommend an abdominal ultrasound as the next diagnostic step to help better determine what the cause could be. If Kitty is still not wanting to eat, you need to consider hospitalization and feeding tube placement to help her get through this. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. This is very serious. Cats often hide when they are ill. Bob needs to see a vet as soon as possible. You did not mention his age so it's difficult to give you an idea of what may be going on. If he is a young cat then he may have an intestinal obstruction. In an older cat the most likely causes for vomiting, hiding, weight loss and "bathroom" issues are: kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes and cancer. Regardless, he needs to see a vet. You can't let him go on suffering.
