My cat keeps throwing up large amounts of food. Does she need ER?

It is very concerning that Peanut is vomiting shortly after eating, and I do not think she can wait until Friday to see the vet. She sounds pretty sick to me, and I think she should see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

If the slow feeder hasn't helped, I recommend to have Simone examined by the veterinarian. It's possible she has a parasite, a food allergy, IBD...etc When pets don't respond to home care, it's time to visit the veterinarian. I hope this helps.

Poor guy. If he has vomited more than a few times within an hour and seems unstable (lethargic, weak, non-responsive), then this is considered an emergency and he should go to any available vet or ER vet today. However, if he is still active, nice pink gums, and responsive, you can monitor him to see if the vomiting subsides. You should also fast him (not food, only water) for at least 12 hrs, then try offering him a bland diet of tuna and white rice or lean ground turkey and white rice to see if you can help settle his stomach. So Cleo may have gotten into something that upset her tummy, or she may have eaten a string or something more serious. If she continues vomiting throughout the day, she needs to see a vet right away. If it just seems to be the vomiting this morning that goes away after a couple of hours and she is acting normally, she is likely fine.

It sounds as Marylin is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Oh dear - poor Mickey! I agree that it's very concerning that she's been vomiting so much today and hasn't been eating or drinking. It's less surprising to me that she isn't using the litter box right now -- remember, nothing going in means nothing coming out. Given her young age, the most common cause for vomiting with a loss of appetite is a gastrointestinal obstruction or blockage from eating something she shouldn't have. As a result, I would strongly recommend taking Mickey to an emergency vet right away for evaluation. They'll be able to examine her and perform any necessary diagnostics (namely x-rays) to help get to the bottom of this issue. If Mickey is diagnosed with an obstruction, she'll need surgery to remove the blockage. In this situation, it's best not to delay treatment. I hope that she makes a speedy recovery!
