Why is my cat still vomiting after vet medicine and chicken?

I am sorry to hear your cat is not feeling well. If this medication was prescribed by your veterinarian and your cat is still vomiting despite the medication then I would seek veterinary care immediately. If the medication was NOT prescribed by your veterinarian then please do not give any more, and take your cat in for evaluation. You do not mention how old the kitty is-any number of issues could be going on. A foreign body obstruction in the intestinal tract, a gastrointestinal infection, dietary indiscretion, a cancerous process, even renal failure can cause the symptoms you have noted. Your cat needs a thorough physical exam and your vet May recommend some diagnostics such as xrays and bloodwork. I hope your kitty feels better soon.

If he was recently at the vet for vomiting, and now is not eating or drinking anything, he should be seen again as this would make me concerned about the possibility of a foreign body, or pancreatitis, which would require additional therapy. If your vet didn't do x-rays or bloodwork at the previous appointment it's time to make sure there's nothing more serious going on. However, since your vet just saw Iron I would start by giving them a call with an update, in case they have other input based on their exam findings. Hope this helps and he feels better soon!

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. Is he still on the antibiotics? If so maybe you could call and request a different medication? If he is no longer taking the medication and he is still vomiting then she should have a follow up appointment. It is possible that it is just coincidental with the neutering and he could have a foreign body in his stomach, or a parasite causing him to vomit. They may want to do an x-ray and/or some blood work. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Pixie! Since Pixie failed outpatient medications then I agree she needs to be seen again tomorrow. I would not feed her for 12 hours before your appointment so she has an empty stomach. She needs blood work and belly X-rays. I worry that she may have eaten something that is stuck. Other causes are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, food allergy/intolerance, new food/treat/table food. If she is continuing to vomit I would recommend rechecking with the veterinarian that originally saw her. Further testing should be performed such as blood work and abdominal x-rays. I would want to rule out a systemic disease or infection and an abdominal foreign body causing the vomiting. This could also be a dietary sensitivity. If the above testing is normal or you do not want to have this additional testing done, I would recommend switching to a different diet that has a different protein that Henry has not had before. If he has never had salmon or tuna before, I would feed this instead of what he is currently being fed. I would also recommend adding in a probiotic such as Purina Fortiflora. I hope this helps! It sounds as Lexy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
