My cat ate, threw up, ate again, and threw up. Should I see a vet?

It's possible Luna may just have some minor GI upset, or she is going too long in between meals if this has only happened twice and she is otherwise normal and happy. Other possibilities can include something such as a hairball that is leading to vomiting. Offering a bland meal after she vomits, or increasing the number of meals she gets per day may help with anything minor. If the vomiting continues, worsens, she shows other signs of illness, or you are just very concerned about it, it is always best to schedule a veterinary visit to rule out more serious issues. Internal parasites, GI illness, metabolic diseases, etc can all potentially cause vomiting as a symptom, so a complete exam is best to rule out any more serious problems.

This is very concerning and very abnormal. Vomiting in cats can be caused by primary issues with the gastrointestinal tract, dysfunction of the organs, infection, intolerance to a diet, etc. Either way, this is very concerning and KitKat should be seen by a veterinarian ASAP for examination and potential diagnostics.

Hi and thanks for posting! If Haru just vomited one time today, I wouldn't worry too much. However, if the vomiting continues and he is vomiting more frequently, then a veterinary visit would be warranted. I would recommend withholding food from Haru for the rest of the day to give his stomach a break and then slowly reintroduce food to him giving a small amount at a time. Yes, I would have Houdini seen by a vet but it's not an emergency. It's not normal he's been vomiting in the past couple of weeks, and while it could be due to something he ate off the ground, I can't say for certain without seeing him. Certainly there are a number of illnesses that cause vomiting, such as kidney disease and diabetes, and in the beginning stages the cat eats normally or has an increase in appetite. I'd give the vet a call in the morning to make an appointment to have him seen. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Hello, sorry to hear about Kitty. I would definitely have him evaluated in case his cold is secondary from aspirating his vomit which could be causing him a pneumonia now. If he does have pneumonia now, he will need antibiotics and likewise if he has an upper respiratory infections. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Time will tell with this one. Since she's eating, drinking, and not lethargic, you certainly don't need to seek emergency care tonight. If tomorrow she still seems out of sorts, or continues to vomit, I would recommend scheduling a vet appointment for exam and x-rays of her abdomen. If he was recently at the vet for vomiting, and now is not eating or drinking anything, he should be seen again as this would make me concerned about the possibility of a foreign body, or pancreatitis, which would require additional therapy. If your vet didn't do x-rays or bloodwork at the previous appointment it's time to make sure there's nothing more serious going on. However, since your vet just saw Iron I would start by giving them a call with an update, in case they have other input based on their exam findings. Hope this helps and he feels better soon!
