Why is my cat suddenly vocal and her stomach trembling? Is it serious?

When cats are hunting something such as a bug, they may chatter. However if your cat's belly is distended or you think she may be pregnant or ill, it is best to seek out veterinary care. Your vet can determine if there is a pregnancy and check for other causes of distended bellies such as internal parasites which require treatment.

Trembling is a general sign and can be seen with several things that go from just being cold or nervous to being an indication of pain or discomfort. If Emmy is otherwise fine, then it would be ok to monitor her for now. However, if at any point she appears to be in discomfort or stops eating or showing any other concerning symptoms, it may be best to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. This can be associated with a number of conditions from pancreatitis to foreign bodies and requires veterinary attention as soon as possible. If Nina is lethargic or not acting like herself and has other signs like vomiting or diarrhea, she should be seen right away. I hope all is well!

Shaking or trembling in your cat could indicate pain or discomfort. If the shaking is severe I would be worried about seizure like activity. I would recommend taking KitKat in to see your vet as something serious may be going on. Hopefully your vet can pinpoint the problem, with a physical exam and possibly blood work, and help to stop the shaking.

It sounds like Malena may be in distress. Since she cannot talk and tell you why this is happening, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian right away. It is always better to play it safe. I hope it’s nothing serious.

Poor Cecelia. It sounds like she may be abdominal breathing which means she is having difficulty breathing and this could potential be an emergency. I would take her to your vet ASAP to be examined. They will be able to listen to her heart and lungs and watch her breathe. If needed they may want to take chest x-rays to see what her heart and lungs look like. Gizzy needs to be examined by the veterinarian. The two most common conditions that will cause these clinical signs are kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. Please keep in mind that other causes are also possible. Both of these can be successfully managed with special foods/medications. The key however, is that treatment must start before things get too bad. The longer you wait, the worse things may become. These conditions are not death sentences if caught at an appropriate time. Many cats will live a quality life for a few years after diagnosis. I recommend to have Gizzy examined by the veterinarian within the next few days. Some simple blood and urine tests will be needed for a correct diagnosis. Left untreated, these conditions can cause pets to become more sick and potentially suffer.
