These conditions are typically very painful and uncomfortable as there is a large amount of inflammation and pressure from being unable to void the bladder. He should be seen by a vet as soon as possible as this condition can quickly turn into a medical emergency as the urine backs up into the kidneys and causes a build up of toxins. Hello, and thanks for your question. Poor Boo! It sounds like Boo probably has a urinary tract infection. She should be seen by your vet, where they will examine her and evaluate a sample of her urine to look for evidence of infection. They will set her up with antibiotics if indicated to treat the infection. I also see she is unspayed. Frequent attempts to urinate can also be a symptom of a life threatening uterine infection ("pyometra"), or very rarely a urethral obstruction (though this is much more common in male cats, and quite rare in females). If Boo gets sicker overnight she may need to be taken to the emergency vet. However, these possibilities would be much less likely than a urinary tract infection. With the symptoms that you are describing, I would be concerned that Tigger may have crystals or stones in his urinary tract and they also have a secondary urinary tract infection. In male cats, they are at risk of developing a lower urinary tract obstruction due to crystals or stones. If you see that he is making small spots of urine, he may be trying to urinate but is unable to fully eliminate his bladder due to a partial obstruction. I would have a veterinarian examined him so that the most appropriate Diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would also consider having his bladder ultrasound addicted or have abdominal x-rays taken to see if there are stones that could be causing the problem and also to test his urine to check for infection. This is not normal at all. She may be suffering from a urinary tract infection, and/or incontinence. She is licking herself and her bed trying to clean the urine off. I suggest you take your kitty to your veterinarian for an exam and a urinalysis. If she is suffering from a UTI she will need prescription medication.

This twitching and peeing behavior sounds like your cat is spraying. This can be a behavioral thing. I would recommend a different type of litterbox with a front door so that she doesn't miss and potentially get urine on the floor. As long as she is trying to go in the litterbox you can try to see if a change in litterbox will suffice. However, there are medications to help with spraying behavior, I like Clomicalm and Fluoxetine for medical therapy. For more natural products you can try Feliway plug-ins placed near the litterbox. Inappropriate urination is often a medical issue and possibilities include feline lower urinary tract disease, a urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, among other possible medical reasons. Another possibility is that this is behavioral in nature. I recommend that you have Pixie evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. If it is behavioral, sometimes a product called Feliway can help. You may find that online or at your local pet store.
