I am sorry to hear that your pet may have an intestinal puncture. If he did he would be having profuse vomiting, lack of appetite and few feces. The only way to fix an intestinal rupture is through surgery. The vet will confirm this via x-ray and physical exam findings and then in surgery the hole would be found and then sutured closed. The problem with hernias is that the internal organs can become twisted and cut off blood supply. That is very painful and will lead to death. This is something that needs to be fixed with surgery.
