Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 16 years and 3 months old | 7.5 lbs
My 17 year old cat has been seen for rectal prolapse. It started small and would go back in rather quickly. She has had her anal glands expressed from inside (first time was gross) but on 3rd visit she is clear. Vet put on antibiotics. Its been 2 months and it seems worse. Protrusion from anus more intense (looks like an outtie belly buttoand stays out longer. Vet suggests surgery, but I have fears, since she is 17 years old. What other choice do I have? She doesnt seem to be in pain.
