Cat threw up worms. What's the best over-the-counter roundworm medicine?

You should be able to easily find this at PetSmart, just look for anything that indicates it has pyrantel pamoate in it & just follow the label directions. Yes - a wormer designed for roundworms is the best option. Be sure to follow all directions as regards minimum age for use (some should not be used before 9weeks etc), correct species and weight and to repeat treatment at the correct frequency. If she is vomiting frequently, a spot on medication may be more useful to ensure she does not vomit the oral treatment before it has time to work. You can get a regular dewormer that has Fenbendazole or Pyrantel Palmoate as the active ingredient to treat roundworms. So you want to treat once today and repeat in 2 weeks, because that is the length of the life cycle. Best of luck and take care of your pet Pickles.

That is a lovely kitty you have there! If the worm you saw looked like a little squirmy grain of rice, then Cadbury has tapeworms. This is easily treated with a cat wormer that contains praziquantel. You should be able to get that from your vet, or over the counter from a pet shop. You can also order it over the internet. Drontal for cats would be such a wormer.
