My cat's testicles are black and hard two weeks after neutering. Is this normal?

The picture is difficult to make out, but it almost looks like a piece of body tissue hanging out. Was he recently neutered? If so I would recommend having a follow up appointment with your veterinarian to see if there is any infection or problem at the neuter site. Good luck and I hope he is back to normal soon.

This amount of bruising can be normal after a neuter. It should resolve after a few days. Monitor for spread, swelling, bleeding or discharge. Restrict activity as much as possible for the next 2 weeks.

Honestly it is not easy for me to tell exactly what is going on without examining him in person. Both sides of the scrotum look symmetrical from the photo but if one side is hard and one is soft then that could indicate an infection. I suggest you take him to a vet for an exam. Hello. This is not normal. Traditionally, the incisions over the acrotum are left open when a cat is neutered. Some of the scrotal tissue appears to be bulging out. This is not life threatening, but may delay healing time or possibly become infected. I would suggest that you have your cat rechecked by the veterinarian that performed the surgery. If his sac looks like it has testicles in it, this is most likely due to swelling from the surgery. This is called a scrotal hematoma, and is fairly common after a [neuter surgery](https://www.petcoach.co/article/benefits-of-neutering-castrating-male-dogs-puppies). The swelling can definitely look like testicles, but it's just fluid and blood clots from the procedure. The testicles themselves are removed during the neuter, so they're definitely not still there. If you have any concerns about how it looks, you can always have him rechecked next week with the vet who did his surgery to make sure everything is healing as expected.

It is possible that he had an injury to the area, a reaction to sutures if they were used during his neuter procedure or an infection that is beginning to heal.
