My cat has symmetrical bumps under her canines. Should I worry?

I'm wondering if these round lumps you are feeling are Cal's lymph nodes. Those become enlarged in response to infection, and she could have a dental problem causing them to be enlarged. A dental problem would also lead her to paw at her mouth when eating. I would have her seen by a vet for these problem. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and how best to treat it. If she does have a dental problem, she may benefit from a dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing. As for her litter mate with a single lump in the same area, I would have him examined by a vet as well for it.

I suspect this might be what is called a "resorptive lesion." There is a tiny tooth right there, and for some cats, they develop lesions where the body actually breaks down their teeth over time. They can be painful. For some cats, they don't show any signs. Have him evaluated by your vet; they may recommend a sedated dental exam and dental xrays to evaluate the tooth roots. If roots are left under the surface, its potentially a source of infection and pain, and surgical removal of the root may be considered. Other possible causes of the bump would be inflammation, infection, (unlikely based on appearance), or an abnormal grownth/tumor. Get him in to your vet when you can to have it checked out. In that area, cats can have some odd looking structures in their mouths. Check the other side for a matching structure. if one is present, it's likely normal. If one is not present, have him examined by the veterinarian to see what that is. I hope this helps.

While there is normally irregular bumps around that area of the lip, it is usually not that big. I would have your vet check it to be sure. It maybe a growth or an infection or inflamed from that tooth rubbing it

Hello. I would just watch this for now. I have removed several of these off of older cats, & they are most often benign & not dangerous. Removal is always curative. If it looks like it is enlarging, or it is interfering with his ability to eat or chew, definitely consider having it removed. Otherwise, just monitor for now. Congrats on your new cat! This bump on Arya could be from an injury or it could be a benign tumor. It would be a good idea to have it checked out by a vet just to make sure there is nothing concerning about it. The vet can let you know if it needs to be treated or not.

It's still a little hard to see these things well, but I did not say they look normal. They could be thickening from chronic inflammation, something like a wart or something more worrisome. A vet should take a look at those and check then further.
