My cat has a black bump on her inner lower lip. Is it normal?

While there is normally irregular bumps around that area of the lip, it is usually not that big. I would have your vet check it to be sure. It maybe a growth or an infection or inflamed from that tooth rubbing it

It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne). If it does not resolve on its own, I would recommend having Mouse examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! This looks like it could be a scab or potentially feline acne. Feline acne can be related to using a plastic or dirty food bowl so you may want to switch to glass or ceramic if you have a plastic bowl. It does not typically require treatment and does not bother the cat. If this lesion is getting bigger, if you notice redness or discharge or if it seems to be bothering Lydia I would recommend having your vet examine it.

Marshy likely either has an infection or an autoimmune condition called a 'rodent ulcer.' Cancer could look like this but is less likely. I would recommend to take her in for an exam. The doctor will prescribe medication based on the exam and history. I hope this helps with your baby!

It's hard to see what is going on from the photo. Bumps on the lips/chin can be a number of things, including feline acne, infections under the skin, allergies, etc. If Leo has trouble getting to the vet, I would definitely look into the sedative option, or see if there is a house call service near you that can come to you. Both of these options are a great way to make veterinary care a little easier. Since bumps on the chin may require having a sample taken of them to determine it's cause, sedatives may be needed regardless to ensure everyone is safe and calm during the procedure. Until you can get to the vet, I would continue to monitor the area for additional changes, keep it clean and dry, and if it is itchy or bothersome, place an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Leo to keep her from rubbing the spot which can lead to more irritation. If she's wary of the carrier, working on getting her used to it by leaving it out at all times and tossing treats in it/feeding her next to it may help make it a little easier if you do need to use it.

This could be a bug bite or a small growth. If it is not painful and not getting bigger then I would watch it and have her seen by your vet if it doesn’t go away in a few days. Sometimes I need to poke a growth with a needle and look at it under the microscope to determine the cause. This is not necessarily an emergency but should be seen and worked up if it doesn’t go away in a few days or gets bigger. Watch for discharge from swelling, change in appetite or energy level.
