Since that is so close to the eye, it should be seen by a vet in person just to make sure it doesn't become infected and spread to the eye itself, and to try and figure out what may have caused the initial injury. Your vet can also provide any pain or antibiotic medications as needed to help the spot heal. Until you can get to the vet, it is best to keep the spot clean and dry, and make sure that the eye isn't bothered. An Elizabethan (cone) collar is also a good idea to prevent scratching at it which can lead to infection or accidental scratching of the eye.

It is likely from trauma of running into something or rubbing against something or getting bitten by something. There is nothing safe to give over the counter for cats especially being so close to the eye. All you can do is apply an ice pack to help with swelling. If it continues then you will need to see your vet for medication

I can't tell from the photo if it is swollen. If you think it is, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian because it could indicate the beginning of an infection or tooth root abscess. There's not much you can do in that area because Misty will lick off any topical treatments. She should wear an elizabethan collar at all times so she cannot rub the area. If the lesion is not swollen, you can monitor it for a few days. If the area is not healing or is getting worse, I recommend to have Misty examined by the veterinarian. Palpate that area to make sure there is nothing that feels like a mass or swelling under the area. If that is related to a wound, the hair should starts to come back in a couple weeks. This presentation could be due to a trauma or localised spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria but fungal infection is possible). A check up, appropriate disinfection and eventually antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem.
