Why does my 19-year-old cat have sore lesions on her chest and leg?

This might be more than just an allergic reaction, it looks very severe, most probably infected as well. you must take your cat to the vet in order to get it treated ASAP, she will need an antibiotic injection and if an allergy is suspected as the cause then she will also probably need a steroid injection.

Those look like pretty inflamed lesions. There are a few things that come to mind. Cats can get an autoimmune condition called eosinophilic granuloma that requires steroids for treatment and maybe antibiotics to control secondary infections. Check the house and make sure there's no possibility should could have touched something very hot or gotten into anything that could cause a chemical burn. Lastly, fleas and ringworm can be brought in on your shoes/clothing although this would be an abnormal presentation. Rarely, pets can get skin cancer that looks similar to this. I recommend to have Shadow checked out by her veterinarian since this is a mystery and she has two lesions. It's better to be safe. Hi, I think one of the first conditions to rule out here would be eosinophilic granuloma complex (EGC) which refers to a group of inflammatory skin problems in cats. The skin lesion on the picture may be an eosinophilic plaque. Common sites are the hind legs and the stomach. The lesions can be large and may be itchy, and the cat may frequently tries to licks and even bites at the affected site which can make it worse. Most cases of ECG are due to allergies ( fleas /food/ atopy=environmental). Flea control is very important in the treatment. Most cases respond well to medical treatment with corticosteroids (prednisolone commonly) and antibiotic if infected. She will need to be checked by a vet to confirm and to be treated. Some appear to be infected. This may be from the stress of moving coupled with a new environment and allergens he is not used to. Since they are so wide spread it is best to have him checked for ringworm also. Your vet can prescribe antibiotics to help clear the infection and treat the underlying cause.

This looks like a site of infection and possibly an abscess if the surrounding area is very swollen. It does sound like she is uncomfortable because of it. I would recommend taking Daisy in to see your vet because she may need antibiotics to help clear it up. It is most likely a skin infection or abscess but since it is centered around her joint there is concern that there could be infection in the joint as well.

It's very hard to judge from a picture, it could be an infection but at her age a tumor would not be surprising. this sore needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Kitty to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

It looks like a burst abscess but it could also be an ulcerated tumor, i strongly advise taking her to the vet today in order to get it checked and treated, she will need an antibiotic injection at the very least in order to heal from this.
