My cat was outside, now his skin pops when I pet him. What's wrong?

It's possible the wound could be seeping or there is something bacterial/parasitic going on under the skin, or there is an issue such as a joint or bone that is scraping and that is what you are hearing. Since there are sores on the foot and also strange sounds coming from it, it would be best to bring him to a vet ASAP to rule out issues such as injuries, sprains, breaks, infections, etc that could be causing his symptoms.

Bubbles or air under the skin is called subcutaneous emphysema, and is usually a result of a penetrating chest or throat injury. This would also explain why he is not eating and having trouble breathing. I would recommend taking him to the nearest veterinary ER immediately for an exam, x-rays, and treatment - it's very likely that he may die without immediate veterinary care. If you're not sure where to go, try calling your regular vet's office - their voicemail message should have contact information for your nearest emergency clinic, or an on-call doctor for emergencies.

Upper and lower respiratory issues in cats are very worrisome. Cats are prone to getting asthma (causes wheezes), pneumonia (crackles heard in the lungs), and upper respiratory infections (crackles in the nasal passage). They can also get heart problems that lead to fluid build up in the lungs. I would highly recommend taking Prince to your local vet to get examined thoroughly, potential bloodwork and x-rays of his chest. I would try to get him in as soon as possible, because it often is a sign of a serious illness whenever a cat decides to refuse food. Considering that there are multiple problems, I think it would be worth a vet exam. Skin infections along with eye infections can indicate that something is off in the blood chemistry, or with the immune system. I don't mean to scare you, but it's best to just get it checked. A vet would be able to better assess Mya's condition and determine if any further testes or treatment is needed. It's possible that these problems could get much worse if left to heal on their own, so I wouldn't recommend that. In the meantime, the wound should be cleaned well by flushing with clean water for five minutes twice a day. I do not recommend putting any soaps or antiseptics on the wound right now, because it could irritate the wound and delay healing. I hope that helps and Mya gets better soon.

If Windsor needs his subcutaneous fluid treatment, choose a different area on his body to administer them. The air under the skin (subcutaneous emphysema) can take longer to resolve in some cats, but it will resolve unless there is an undiagnosed underlying condition. It sounds like Kitty most likely has an infection in his skin. Abscesses are very common in outdoor cats. I would recommend to make an appointment at the veterinarian's office to have him checked out and the abscesses treated. They may also want to test him for feline leukemia. This may due to an extremely severe allergy, a burn injury (so the skin which has fallen off died) but it could also be infection (bacterial or viral) or mites. An immediate check up is absolutely needed as antibiotic treatment and pain relief medications will be needed.
