Why is only one of my cat's nails ridged and weird? Is it normal?

It may be worth investing in new nail trimmers - some of the less expensive ones truly don't seem to cut as well as more expensive nail trimmers. But it shouldn't hurt their nails long term

It is normal for cats to shed some of their nails as they grow out. This is why it is helpful to have things like a scratching post in your home so she can keep up with her nail health. I would look for signs of limping or excessive licking of the feet, if you see any of these it could indicate that her feet are hurting her and a trip to the vet would be indicated.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kitty! The nail does appear malformed. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian, as we can see this with nailbed infections at times. The vet can more closely examine this nail and the others and determine what the underlying cause may be and how best to treat the claw.

What you are seeing on the nails may be individual sheaths. These are normal. A cat removes them and keeps nails sharp and trim by scratching. Provide a scratching mat or pole to help him. The spot on his chin could be a spot of chin acne which is common in cats. Keep the area clean and dry. You can use a pet wipe or a plain, unscented baby wipe. Sometimes a mild cleanser containing benzoyl peroxide can clear it up. If he has a plastic bowl, switch to a ceramic or stainless steel one. Plastic bowls may harbor bacteria or can cause an allergic reaction. If the spot doesn't heal or spreads, have him physically examined by your veterinarian.

Most cats have clear/white claws but occasionally they can be darker. This can be from natural pigment or a response to inflammation or infection. If you see brown waxy discharge around the nail that is turning the nail brown, this can be a sign of an infection. If this is the case, a veterinarian should evaluate her to see if there is an infection.

Many cats have one or more canine teeth that are overgrowing, fortunately it does not usually cause them any issues and they can live with it. i admit Tiger's tooth is extremely long though so if you think it is bothering him it might be a good idea to consider having it removed surgically by your vet.

She probably got the nails stuck on a blanket or something and they got ripped. I doubt a tussle with the other cat would do that but I guess it's possible. If it is not bothering her it is best to just leave it alone for now. Monitor her for any worsening by looking at it once a day and keep her nails trimmed to prevent this from happening again!
