My pet was shot, bloated, not eating, and sleeping. Emergency?

Poor Simba! There are many things that can cause cats to stop eating, so I wouldn't necessarily assume this is due to a hairball. Simba could have a GI problem like pancreatitis or an intestinal obstruction, a systemic illness such as liver or kidney disease, or may have ingested something toxic. If he hasn't been eating since Tuesday, this is very concerning and warrants an immediate vet visit. If your regular veterinarian isn't open, then I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic today to be seen. The veterinarian there can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

Oh my! If you are asking what is the treatment for a gun shot, then this would most certainly be surgery and/or wound management, antibiotics, and pain medication. Please take your pet to the ER vet right away!

Hello. I am sorry Simba is not feeling well. It is possible that Simba was incubating, or had a low-grade infection. The allergy shot was actually a steroid injection that lowers the ability of the immune system to respond to an infection, essentially making the infection worse. So, this is not a behavior change, Simba just is under the weather. Hopefully, the antibiotics will keep things from getting worse, but if Simba does not pick up in a couple of days, please call your veterinarian. He may need a change in antibiotics, or be placed on an antiviral medication. As long as he is eating a little each day, he will be OK, but if he refuses all food, have him seen as soon as possible. If his stomach seems significantly bloated it could be a sign of ascites or fluid in the abdomen. I think it would be best to see a vetas soon as you can and an emergency visit might be the best option. They may recommend blood work and x-rays after a physical exam.

Simba could have blood pressure or blood sugar issue and I think giving him corn syrup was a good start. That said, Simba could be suffering from balance issues. One condition that could explain what is going on is called vestibular syndrome. You veterinarian could confirm it by doing a full physical exam or discovery what else could be going on. Hello. If Simba's stomach appears bigger than before and it is hard, you need to get him to a vet immediately as he could have a twisted stomach. Otherwise, if he is drinking more and has weight loss you should have him seen and bloodwork performed. I would have him seen by a vet as soon as possible. Good luck with Simba.
