My cat keeps shivering when she lies down. Is she in pain or sick?

When pets have seizures, they are unable to respond to normal stimuli like calling their name. The shivering is still concerning because cats should not shiver. He could be sick and I recommend to have him examined today to play it safe. I hope this helps.

Unfortunately there's no way to know for sure. Is she showing any other symptoms? Is she still eating, is she moving around normally or does she seem painful, is she vomiting, having diarrhea, or having any coughing or sneezing? Shivering can occur due to being cold, or nauseous, or painful. All of these are possible causes. Make sure she's protected from cold and wind, and if she's not improving and you know she is not cold, take her to your vet for an exam. Shaking or trembling in your cat could indicate pain or discomfort. If the shaking is severe I would be worried about seizure like activity. I would recommend taking KitKat in to see your vet as something serious may be going on. Hopefully your vet can pinpoint the problem, with a physical exam and possibly blood work, and help to stop the shaking.

Your cat may be chilly, nervous, or the trembling may be a sign of pain. Because Alex is an older cat it is reasonable to assume he has some degree of arthritis. Trembling is a general sign and can be seen with several things that go from just being cold or nervous to being an indication of pain or discomfort. If Emmy is otherwise fine, then it would be ok to monitor her for now. However, if at any point she appears to be in discomfort or stops eating or showing any other concerning symptoms, it may be best to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. It sounds like Mary may be in distress. Since she can't talk and tell you what is going on, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. she could be painful somewhere in her body including something like painful anal glands or a bladder infection. I hope this helps.

Nibbles is so cute! There could be a few causes for the symptoms you describe - migration of internal parasites, viral infections, injury. I strongly recommend having her examined by your vet to try to determine why her leg is painful, and why she is shivering. I hope this helps.
