My 9 months old started shaking in a scary way 3 days ago, she is still shaking, she walks slowly and barely carry herself. I want to ask if her problem is because of an infection in her nervous system, or is it just because of stress? I measured her temp. and it’s pretty fine. I have kittens and their mom in the house and she looks uncomfortable around them, Also their mom hits her from time to time. Her brothers died at 2 months old of panleukopenia but she survived. She is the white one down.
Hello, sorry to hear about Couti. It’s difficult to say if she has an infection, but based on what you’re discriminated it could be associated with head trauma, an infection with a virus or bacteria, liver disease or perhaps long standing effects of the panleukopenia. Becuase your other kitten passed from that disease which is contagious, it could be possible that Couti also had this disease but developed the neurologic form of it which causes intention tremors. Shaking and trembling with initiating movement. I would recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian to confirm or rule this out. She may need additional testing to rule out other potential causes. Hope this helps and best of luck.
