My 9-month-old cat is shaking and weak. Is it stress or illness?

Poor Lucy - it is possible as she may be severely dehydrated or have nerve/muscle weakness. If she is not responding to the treatment she received she should be rechecked and have blood tests in order to identify signs of infection of salt imabalances such as low blod potassium.

I would talk to your vet about blood work, a neurologic exam, and maybe referral to a specialist in internal medicine or neurology to determine what could be causing the shaking and loss of balance. It totally can mean that Miley is scared and not sure where she is or what happened. This is the most likely and sensible option. I would confine her to a room with food/water and a litter box. Get things settled and visit with her often. Let her get used to that room. It may take 1-2 days for her to start eating. If she is eating and eliminating normally I do not think she is sick. If she won't eat by day 3, starts vomiting or showing other symptoms have her examined. After a week, if she looks calm and happy open the door and let her explore your new place at her convenience. She has the room as a comfort place. I wish you the best!
