My cat is having seizures and peeing in her sleep. What should I do?

This could indeed be caused by seizures, i would recommend taking her to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked, the vet will likely provide you medications to control the seizures after making a blood test done.

Poor Precious. It sounds like she is really sick. This could be liver or kidney disease, parasites, a bad urinary tract infection or even something more serious like cancer. I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to do some bloodwork to help determine why she may be acting this way. Your vet will also be able to assess her hydration and give her fluids if needed. They will be able to start her on some medicine to hopefully make her feel better. I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. Diagnostics that will be recommended will include bloodwork and advanced imaging such as an MRI. I am so sorry to hear about Tabitha. I would recommend getting her in to the vet immediately for examination and treatment based on these symptoms. Without knowing her age or history it is difficult to say why, but the fact that she is walking in circles and having accidents is very concerning. There is no at-home treatment for this medical condition, and the sooner she is seen the more likely she will be to have a better outcome.

I've never had a cat overstimulate due to petting before. I would be concerned about a primary seizure disorder. I would want to rule out an infectious cause versus epilepsy and evaluate organ functions as well. She needs to be examned by a vet to determine the cause. It could have been a seizure but could also be caused by a heart problem, like cardiomyopathy. Your vet can do a workup to diagnose and then determine if treatment is needed.

It is a little unusual for seizures to happen during a sleep cycle, but if she seems disoriented after waking up this is probably what is happening. In a cat Cassie's age I would worry that the seizures are due to a primary brain disease and not something more benign like epilepsy. Kidney disease, liver disease, or hypoglycemia can also cause seizures but it would be less likely for Cassie to act like her normal self in between seizure episodes. Infections, some inflammatory diseases or cancer would be most common. Regardless of the cause of the seizures anti-epileptic drugs can sometimes help control the frequency and severity of the seizures, but if the underlying disease is not treated at some point the seizures will progress. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian to discuss testing and treatment options.
