My cat keeps regurgitating food and drooling. Is this normal?

Vomiting, drooling and inappetence can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Peanut evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check her hydration status and give her medications to make her feel better. Good luck!

Poor Peanut! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. If he hasn't been seen by a veterinarian yet for this issue, that's what I would suggest as a starting point. There are many things that can cause chronic GI issues like this in cats, including inflammatory bowel disease, chronic pancreatitis, a food allergy or intolerance to something in his diet, or even a systemic illness like hyperthyroidism. Many of these issues are very treatable with medication and/or a special diet once a diagnosis is made, so there's a good chance your veterinarian will be able to help. I would recommend taking him in for a visit as soon as you're able to.

It is very concerning that Peanut is vomiting shortly after eating, and I do not think she can wait until Friday to see the vet. She sounds pretty sick to me, and I think she should see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. There is a difference between active vomiting and regurgitation. And they have many different causes. Your vet will have to determine if it's vomiting or regurgitation and work the case up appropriately. Possible tests include fecal/blood/urine tests and x-rays/ultrasound. Once a diagnosis is made a sound treatment plan can be implemented.

I highly recommend taking a video and bringing Kitty to your veterinarian for a physical examination and diagnostics. It can be a gastrointestinal issue and he may require xrays or blood work. I would take him sooner than later. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

If Milo was drooling that may be a sign of nausea which can be seen with gastrointestinal conditions like gastroenteritis, pancreatitis or conditions such as kidney disease, among others. If it has only happened once, it is fair to monitor him for now as long as he is otherwise doing well with a good appetite and activity level.
