My cat keeps pooping and puking everywhere. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 16 lbs

Peanut has had what i’m assuming to be IBS for some time. I was using BM-tone up and special food (which he wasn’t really eating), and giving him CBD oil incase it was stress caused. He’s recently started pooping and puking downstairs so I now keep him in my room. He poops everywhere, all the time. Last night he pooped in the litter box, then on the floor next to it, then he puked, and then he pooped right on my floor in front of me (all consecutive, within minutes of each other). What to do?

Poor Peanut! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. If he hasn't been seen by a veterinarian yet for this issue, that's what I would suggest as a starting point. There are many things that can cause chronic GI issues like this in cats, including inflammatory bowel disease, chronic pancreatitis, a food allergy or intolerance to something in his diet, or even a systemic illness like hyperthyroidism. Many of these issues are very treatable with medication and/or a special diet once a diagnosis is made, so there's a good chance your veterinarian will be able to help. I would recommend taking him in for a visit as soon as you're able to.

It is very concerning that Peanut is vomiting shortly after eating, and I do not think she can wait until Friday to see the vet. She sounds pretty sick to me, and I think she should see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

My cat throws up after eating often. When should I take her to a vet?

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good day!

Why is my old cat vomiting, peeing, and pooping outside the box?

Poor kitty! In a 13 year old cat, I strongly suspect that she has a medical problem causing these issues. Some common possible causes would include hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to - he/she can do blood work and a urinalysis to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate medication to treat it.

My cat keeps regurgitating food and drooling. Is this normal?

I recommend a vet visit for peanut. Regurgitatatuon or vomiting is not normal for cats and indicates a health problem. Many things can cause a cat to regurgitate his good. The vet will perform a physical exam on Peanut and from there may recommend bloodwork or imaging to assess what may be wrong. I hope Peanut is better soon.
