My cat has a red patch. Could it be ringworm? What about sulfur dip?

Leo's skin could look like that for any of the reasons you listed and add skin mites to the list as well. The problem with skin conditions is that they all clinically look the same. Diagnostics or sometimes a response to treatment is the only way to know what is the underlying condition. For a young cat like Leo, fleas, skin mites or ringworm is more common but allergic reactions are not impossible. That lesion on his head looks pretty inflamed. if you don't see any obvious cause like fleas, I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian. The veterinarian who will look for other clues on the physical exam to get a better idea what the underlying cause is. Ringworm and mites can be ruled out with some simple diagnostics and he can receive medication to heal the lesions. You may start an omega 3 fatty acid for cats as this can help with inflammation and skin health but it may not fix the problem. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello. You can try the immune support. I do not think it will help all that much, but it should not hurt. The best thing to do to keep a kitties immune system in great shape is to keep indoors, booster all appropriate vaccination, regularly apply of treat with a good flea & tick product, feed the best food you can afford , & deworm if necessary. As for the dip, mix 4 ounces, or 1/4 of a 16 ounce bottle, in 1 gallon of warm water. Bathe both of your kitties in any shampoo & rinse off soap. While each cat is still wet from rinsing , apply the diluted dip. Once you are done, you can wrap each cat in a towel, but do not let them lick themselves until completely dry so you may need to place an Elizabethan cone ( cone of shame ) on them. This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria or fungal infection). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics/antifungal meds (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any scratching. Hello. Continue the lime sulfur dips 1-2 times weekly until all of the lesions have healed. This may take 2-6 weeks, but since you have thoroughly cleaned the house, you do not need to do this again. Based on your pictures and the fact that people in the house are dealing with ringworm, I would say that this is definitely high on my list of possibilities for Herbie. I would begin treating him with topical medications. Below is what I would recommend using. Begin using immediately and see if there is any improvement with Herbie. Also, I would recommend having all of the humans in the house examined by a GP so that you can begin treating the ringworm on yourselves and not continue reinfecting yourselves or Herbie. 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine Combination shampoo and bathe him twice weekly until resolved 2. Miconahex + Triz Spray OR Malacetic conditioning spray and apply twice daily to the affected areas until resolved all of the products above can be found online quite easily. I hope this helps! Those are possibly ringworm but they could also be miliary dermatitis. I recommend to have him tested for ringwomr so you know at least if thats what you need to treat.
