My cat has raised, scaly patches. Is it ringworm or dermatitis?

This is suspicious of ringworm (a fungal infection of the skin). This could also be due to a yeast or bacteria infection, but I think it's much more likely to be ringworm.. It's best to take him to the veterinarian soon, because ringworm can spread to different parts of the body and can spread to people. Also, the more involved the infection, the longer it will take to clear. The vet will be able to definitively diagnose it and give the best treatment. From your description and Cecil’s age I’m concerned these could be ringworm lesions. Ringworm is a fungal infection that kittens often get. With just a few small areas a topical treatment is usually all that’s needed. As cats age and their immunity increases these often go away without treatment. Ringworm can spread to humans so be sure to wash your hands after petting Cecil. Usually people do not get if but it’s best to be careful. It is hard to say for sure, but based on your description these red scabby areas could be either a ringworm infection (itchy) or mites (not itchy). Your local veterinarian can do a simple skin scrape test + fungal culture to determine the underlying cause for sure, so that the appropriate treatment is recommended to resolve these reddish bald areas on Snappy's skin. That could be a ringworm patch on Tinsel. Unfortunately without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. Don't touch it, as ringworm is highly contagious to humans as well. Have her seen by a vet on Monday who can confirm if she has ringworm and can prescribe an oral anti-fungal medication. If she does has ringworm, you will have to disinfect your home because the spores can live in it up to 18 months. I will put a link below on how to do this. It is possible that it could be ringworm but it could also be a bacterial skin infection or an allergic dermatitis. If her skin otherwise seems normal then you could try a spray, like Duoxo calm and see if that helps. If the lesion persists or worsens then she should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can do a culture or cytology to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to treat.
