Why is my kitten twitching intensely during sleep? Is it a seizure?

If you can wake her up and the shaking stops it is not a seizure and is more likely movement associated with REM sleep. If you try to wake her up but she continues to have muscle tremors it could be a seizure or neurologic disorder and you should see your veterinarian. If you do decide to see your veterinarian a video can help them determine what might be going on.

Gentle twitches can occur during relaxation or even during sleep. As long as Mila is otherwise eating, drinking, and acting normally, there is likely no reason for concern. She could be dreaming, as simple as that. That said, she could have had a seizure. Monitor Mae closely for a few hour.. if you are still concerned, do not hesitate to take her to your veterinarian for an exam. What a beautiful kitty!

Twitching in his sleep is normal. Kittens dream a lot. The shaking though when he is eating is unusual. It could be an intention tremor. I recommend to record the behavior and then have him examined by the veterinarian. Make sure to show the vet the video of Spirit eating. I wouldn't worry overly about the twitching when they are asleep as many animals make active movements when dreaming. Your cat is likely simply twitching its skin because it is excited. As long as it is healthy and not showing discomfort when toileting I wouldn't worry about it. If it is really concerning you I would go to the vet for peace of mind.
