My cat has projectile diarrhea, inflamed anus, and white discharge.

Diarrhea is a very non-specific signs so I'm afraid the possibilities are numerous. Intestinal worms, inflammatory bowel disease, food sensitivity, allergic reaction, colitis from stress, diet charge or indiscretion (stealing people food, etc), toxin, or others are all on the list. For tonight, just gently clean her up with a baby wipe or tissue. You can apply a little lanolin or olive oil to soothe the rump. A little ice pack (wrapped in a paper towel or thin kitchen towel) pressed to the anus can help with the pain and inflammation as well. Best of luck to you and Luna!

I think the clear discharge could be mucous that she has in her colon from the diarrhea. It sounds like you are doing all the best things for Phoebe, but I am concerned that she may have other intestinal parasites that are not treated by roundworm dewormer, like coccidia, tapeworms, whipworms, or giardia, or maybe a bacterial or viral infection. I would recommend a checkup with a vet. Take a fresh fecal sample with you to the appointment so the vet can test for other intestinal parasites (a little bit of litter on the feces is ok!). Until the appointment, you can clean her hind end with a warm wet wash cloth and apply a small amount of Neosporin to help with the irritation caused by diarrhea.

Poor Jameson. This is pretty common in kittens for many different reasons. It could be stress related from moving to her new home. She also could have some intestinal parasites that is causing the diarrhea. You said you have not changed her food, so I"m assuming she is eating what she was on at the shelter. IF you have changed from that, this could also be causing diarrhea. I worry about her anus bulging. They strain when having diarrhea and this could lead to a rectal prolapse. I think she should see a veterinarian so they can test for intestinal parasites and hopefully get her started on some diarrhea medications and possibly a bland diet. They can also help with dehydration by giving her some fluids under her skin as these little guys can become dehydrated very quickly. Hope this little girl can get turned around soon.

That could typically be due either to anal gland infection/inflammation or diarrhoea with liquid feces. A check up is necessary if the signs are not resolving, despite a change in the dietary regime (bland diet with chicken and rice for the next 3-4 days). Antibiotics and anal gland expression may be needed.

I'm guessing Good has watery diarrhea, although anal glands could also produce a small amount of bad smelling fluid that could leak from her anus. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian if you aren't sure what this fluid it. If it seems to be diarrhea parasites would be a possible cause. Anal glands can become infected or impacted and produce more fluid than normal.

I would recommend that Pussy be checked out by a vet as soon as possible. Her symptoms could be caused by intestinal parasites (worms, coccidia, giardia), bacterial or viral infection (panleukopenia), IBD, intestinal lymphoma, food allergies, among a few others. From the picture, I am also concerned that she may have a prolapsed rectum. This can occur with straining during diarrhea. Sometimes this prolapse will require surgery to put it back in place and allow it the chance to heal. A vet may recommend intestinal parasite screening or viral testing to determine the cause of her illness and prescribe appropriate treatment. Unfortunately, without physically examining Pussy, it is illegal for us to make any specific medication recommendations.

This can be quite uncomfortable and can progress to the point where she could develop a prolapsed rectum. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine this further and test her blood as well to make sure she has no abnormalities that need to be addressed. With the prolapse you are talking about, this may need surgical correction where the rectum is reduced back into place and a suture pattern is placed to keep it from re-prolapsing. The stitches are removed after a week or so. This problem likely happened from when she was giving birth to the kittens due to the strain of pushing them out. I hope this helps!
