Why is my cat leaking fluid from its bottom? What should I do?

I'm guessing Good has watery diarrhea, although anal glands could also produce a small amount of bad smelling fluid that could leak from her anus. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian if you aren't sure what this fluid it. If it seems to be diarrhea parasites would be a possible cause. Anal glands can become infected or impacted and produce more fluid than normal.

It could be dis charge from his anal glands. Normally, the glands are emptied during the act of defecation. Sometimes though, the glands become impacted then infected. An abscess will form then eventually rupture and drain. If there is no redness, swelling or discharge around the anus, look for swelling elsewhere. If he is an outdoor cat, a bite wound abscess is a possibility. They can be difficult to spot without a close exam and maybe shaving a swollen area. Ideally, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. Especially if he is lethargic, feverish or not eating.

Anal glands are scent glands inside the anus that are expressed with defecation. If she was scared suddenly they can accidentally release the anal gland material. The other possibility is that she is starting with diarrhea and some leaked out. Keep an eye on the litter box and see how her stools are. It can leak out when the glands are full or if something scares the cat, they can express them. The anal glands normally are expressed during defecation. I would have the anal glands checked by your Vet. If he is starting to spray around the house I would have him neutered. I hope this helps and I wish you the best!

It sounds like it may be fluid from the anal glands. Most cats do not have anal gland issues but some do. I recommend to have the anal glands expressed by his veterinarian. He may need this done periodically. There is also a supplement called Glandex that will help his body to naturally express the glands during a bowel movement. You will feed this to him every day. Hello, cats have 2 anal glands that produce anything from a white milky substance to a dark colored substance. These glands are normal and provide some of the scent and lubrication to feces while pets defecate. In some instances one or both of these glands can become infected and need to be treated with surgery and/or antibiotics. If Sokka is scooting, having painful defecations or licking at the area, has swelling or bloody discharge then have him evaluated immediately. It sounds like C-More is constipated, and the clear liquid is mucus that his colon is trying to produce in order to relieve the constipation. This constipation could be caused by intestinal parasites, not enough fiber in the diet, anal sac impaction, polyps in the GI tract, or a foreign body. If C-More isn't up to date on his deworming treatments, he will need one from the vet. I recommend mixing in a teaspoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) in with his food to see if that helps relieve the constipation. If he is still constipated in another 24-48 hours, I would take him into the vet for an exam.
