My cat has a pink, swollen bald spot on her muzzle. Is it serious?

It is difficult to say from the photos. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Kiarra so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne). Typically outdoor cats fight with other cats, and cat bites frequently lead to abscesses. I do think you should take her into the vet to get this treated. I hope this helps!

There really is no way to know what the mass is without a surgical biopsy. I understand the hesitation going forward with surgery, but if it's growing you need to determine what it is, and biopsy is the best option to do so. This mass May just be inflammation or eosinophilia granuloma or it could be a cancerous mass. There are even cases of fungal disease causing nasal masses. If it is growing I would strongly recommend addressing it as soon as possible as surgery may become more difficult as it gets larger. Best of luck to Pol and I hope it is something easily treatable. She is a cutie! This could be from an insect/spider bite that has cause a local infection/abscess which is why is has started to swell. This could potentially be a cancerous mass that has caused an inflammatory reaction as well. Since it has recently become swollen, I would strongly recommend for your vet to take a look at it. Your vet will be able to aspirate the mass or swelling if needed. They can even take X-rays if needed if they are concerned about sinus or honey involvement. They will also be able to start her on some antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory if needed. I hope this helps!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There is no way to know this just based on a picture. If there is a mass effect there may be cancer. However, even without a mass effect this can be cancer. The only way to know for sure is by having Molly evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. They would be able to get a closer look and decide what seems to be more likely to be going on. At the same time, they can perform a biopsy to determine what kind of disease she has.
