Why is my pet's one ear warm and the other ear cold? Is it an infection?

Without pictures and not being able to examine Batman it is difficult to say for sure if there is something abnormal with the warm ear. When there is inflammation, generally the area affected will be warmer due to increased blood flow to the area. It is possible that Batman may have allergies or an ear infection. If the ear is reddened as well, I would recommend having this looked at by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Redness alone doesn't indicate an ear infection but can be a symptom of it. If you suspect Angel may have one, or has symptoms bad enough it is affecting her hearing, it is best to seek veterinary care ASAP so they can look in the ear and get Angel started on a treatment plan of cleaning and medication. Usually, clearing up any infections will help improve hearing and pain/redness/irritation.

The vet will be able to examine her ears thoroughly, including the lower portions of the ear canal that are not visible to the naked eye. The vet will also be able to microscopically evaluate any discharge present in her ears to determine if infection is present.
