Why is my young female cat meowing constantly even with attention?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old

My cat meows at absolutely nothing she has toys out enough food and she plays with her mother she's a year and 4months and very vocal. Her mother is very quiet. Why is she meowing? I'm in most days so she always has attention. Indoor cats

Since your cat has not been spayed she may be increasing her vocalizations because she is in heat. You may want to try and have her spayed and see if that helps the behavior.

Just like people, cats can have different personalities and some cats are just more vocal than others. Since Kaydee is healthy and wants for nothing it is likely her personality and seek your attention. You can try getting a laser pointer to distract her, throw treats or toy mice, get cat trees or cat window shelves that look out to a bird feeder, brush her or just let her sit on your lap. I don't think you will be able to quiet her down but you can try to distract her attention to other activities so it doesn't bother you so much. If her vocalizing is bothersome then do not react when she is loud as to not reward that behavior and only play with her when she is quiet.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Starting her heat cycle in a unspayed female cat is the most common reason for increased vocalization. Other possible causes are: she sees other cats outside (territorial), anxiety (cats outside, starting heat, changes to house hold), attention seeking, or medical issue. I would close the blinds temporarily, provide environmental enrichment (cat trees, interactive cat toys, lazer pointer, play with her) and consider spaying her. You can also consider a Vet exam to be sure it isn't a medical condition. If she is otherwise fine, I hope that is improves with time and some of the above. Have a great day!

Why does my young unspayed female cat meow for hours every day?

Since Pusen is not spayed yet, I'm wondering if she may be in heat - this is a very common cause of excessive vocalization in female cats, especially if she is also rolling around on the ground and yowling. Female cats stay in season almost constantly unless they are pregnant, so if you think this may be the problem, I would recommend having her spayed as soon as you are able to - this should resolve the excessive meowing if it is related to her heat cycle :)

My unspayed cat won't stop meowing. Is she in heat after moving?

I see that Honey isn't spayed. I suspect she is in heat, and that is causing this behavior. Cats in heat are extremely annoying. If you want this behavior to stop, I would have her spayed. Best of luck.

My cat in heat meows loudly and follows only me. Why is that?

I would start by getting Binx spayed to stop this behavior. Typically females will respond if male cats are in the area. She also behavioral likes you and has a bond with you so sometimes cats will start being vocal when owners are round. The best way to stop this is really to just get her spayed. I hope that helps!

Why is my 12-year-old unspayed cat meowing so much more often?

This is a common behavior in intact females (not spayed). The fact that it has become more frequent makes me wonder if anything has changed with her hormonally like an ovarian tumor. I would have your vet take a look at her when you can to ensure everything looks ok. You can also have her spayed to stop these episodes. I hope this helps!

I'm wondering if Syndey is spayed or not. If she isn't, she could be going into heat for the first time. Cats a very vocal (and annoying!) when in heat. If you don't want to deal with this behavior frequently (cats cycle quickly), I would have her spayed. Best of luck.
