My cat is meowing more and shaking while kneading. Is this normal?

If you think he is worsening or think he is having difficulty urinating, I would strongly recommend having the veterinarian recheck Monty to ensure he does not have a urinary tract obstruction. I would make sure a urine sample is tested and his bladder is palpated to check if he is not blocked. If he is blocked this can cause serious pain and can cause kidney failure and death if not treated properly. I hope this helps! It sounds like your cat might be painful when he is urinating - the tail shaking can be seen in cat's with urinary discomfort. This is common in young adult male cats and can be related to cystitis, bladder stones or a urinary tract infection. If he seems to be going more frequently, passing less urine than normal, or if he begins urinating outside the box you should see your veterinarian right away. I recommend having Cornelius seen by a vet as soon as possible - he should be seen right away if he has blood in his urine, begins urinating in abnormal areas, or you note that he is straining to urinate (leaves only small amounts of urine after spending longer in the litter box). When pets have seizures, they are unable to respond to normal stimuli like calling their name. The shivering is still concerning because cats should not shiver. He could be sick and I recommend to have him examined today to play it safe. I hope this helps.

Milo could have acted this way for a number of reasons including: - bite or sting on one of the back paws - litter or tape stuck on the paws -back or leg pain -neurological problem If he seems normal now, I would just monitor for another episode. The outdoor temperature is cold right now so if he was exposed to very cold temperatures for a prolonged period of time, he may be hypothermic. He is just overly excited. This is a normal cat behavior. I wouldn't worry at all, my own cat does this when he gets excited about me being in the same room with him. Best wishes with your kitty Koala and enjoy every moment with your new companion. Take care!
