My cat lost teeth, but his mouth seems fine. Is it gum disease?

It is probably a good thing that that the tooth fell out as there was likely infection that loosened it and that was painful. If the swelling goes back and she has no pain, then you do not need to take her to a vet, However, check the other teeth as well. If there is tartar, or if the gums are red, you should have her mouth checked by the vet as she may need a dental cleaning.

That premolar tooth you have circled is typically smaller than the others. It could be normal or it could be a baby tooth that never came out but honestly, in over 30 years in this industry, I have never seen that in a cat. Even if it is a baby tooth it will not cause him any harm. If you are very worried you should have your vet check it in person. I would not be concerned about it.
