My cat lost a lower jaw canine tooth but seems fine. Should I worry?

As Dr Fernandez recommended, taking him in to the vet would be highly recommended. Regarding being worried about him swallowing the tooth should it fall out on its own--the answer there is that you do not need to worry about it. If he were to swallow a tooth, it would be digested enough by the acid in the stomach to pass without a problem.

As long as the vet checked him and reassured you that he is overall fine, that is the most important thing, although i am not sure why he would tell you that the tooth will grow back, unless he is younger that what you wrote in his profile (1 year and 4 months), permanent teeth grow approximately at the age of 3-6 months, after that whatever falls does not grow back. regarding the wiggling tooth, this is the same issue basically, if he is under 6 months and it is a baby tooth then it will probably fall soon, if it doesn't bother him you can wait until it falls, if he is painful- ask your vet to have it removed under sedation.

No, I wouldn't be worried - there is normal variation between individuals, and honestly I suspect Moose has probably started to lose teeth - they usually swallow them so you probably won't find those teeth when they do come out! Of course, if you're worried a vet could easily take a look and let you know if they're seeing his adult teeth coming in....but I expect he's doing just fine. :-) Hope this helps.

I see you have a snaggletooth kitty! If you mean the little incisor on the right, do nothing, it will fall out by itself. She has already lost a canine tooth, which, in itself is not a problem, however I would have the veterinarian look at her teeth soon. She may have excessive tartar, gingivitis and /or FORL (lesions on the tooth roots) which make the teeth fall out and are painful. Tank may need a teeth cleaning under anesthesia to make sure her mouth is healthy again and not lose more teeth. Gingivitis and tartar can also lead to detrimental bacteria entering the blood stream and causing heart and kidney disease. So dental cleaning is important when there are indications of dental disease.
