Why is my cat licking furniture and acting hyper all of a sudden?

The excessive eating with weight loss is a classic sign of hyperthyroidism which is a fairly common condition in cats so this should be considered as a possibility. This behaviour could indeed be caused by mineral deficiency, as it's not likely to be because of the food in her case it could be either because of kidney failure or intestinal disease. You should take her to the vet in order to have a blood test done ASAP.

The first thing you need to do is have him examined by your vet to check for any underlying medical conditions (like a dental problem) before you just assume the problem is behavioral. He could have a bad tooth or even a malocclusion. I am suspicious of a dental issue because of the drooling you described. These sudden changes in temperament and the weight loss are commonly due to an endocrine problem called hyperthyroidism.
