My cat is lethargic, licking lips, and swallowing. Is it serious?

Your cat needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible for an exam and labwork so that he can be treated for his ailment right away. Not eating is a serious matter in cats. They cannot go more than a few days without eating or they risk liver damage. Your cat needs to be seen by your vet for an exam and bloodwork to determine the cause for your cat’s loss of appetite. I don't think you need to do anything at this stage. He may just have a touch of laryngitis and as long as he is eating and drinking and acting otherwise normally I would not be too concerned. Just keep monitoring him for now.

If she is still eating and drinking then you could probably wait until tomorrow to get her in to see your regular vet. However, if she will not eat or drink, is not urinating or starts vomiting, you will need to take her in right away. I would not recommend waiting until Friday to have her seen.

It can be scary when there's a possibility your cat is sick! Lethargy is seen as a cat acting very tired, not wanting to move much, little interest in getting pet, sleeping a lot more than normal. Personally in my opinion, I always thinks it's best to be safe than sorry, and if you'd feel better taking her into the vet, that's absolutely fine! You may rest easier knowing everything is ok with her, and if she does seem a little tired, a vet visit may be a good idea. It would be best to bring Mimi to a vet for an exam. It is possible she has something stuck in her throat, is experiencing illness, or is having dental/mouth problems that are affecting her ability to swallow or eat, especially if she is also lethargic.

An infection is definitely possible with what you are describing. I also worry about lymphoma or other cancers with this sort of history, but they are not as common in younger cats. I would be more suspicious about an infection. Considering Hammy seems to be quite afflicted and there is potential for this to be something serious like FeLV, or plague, it's best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible.
