My cat is lethargic, hot, drooling, and won't move. Is it urgent?

Poor SoCo sounds extremely ill, and the symptoms you are describing are a medical emergency. As a senior cat, he could have many things wrong with him including dental problems, diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroidism, liver failure, or cancer among others. He needs veterinary care now to diagnose what is causing all his symptoms so he can be treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. This is an emergency and Chloe needs to see a vet now. It sounds like she may be in pain or is very ill. I do not think you should wait until the morning to have her seen, and I strongly urge you to take her into the ER vet immediately. Best of luck.

Poor Precious! It sounds like she's quite sick. Open-mouth breathing or "panting" in cats is not normal, and usually indicates a serious breathing problem or some type of severe stress. Acting lethargic and not eating are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost any kind of illness, so it's hard to say what might be going on without being able to examine her and run some tests. It does sound like this may be a life-threatening problem, so I would recommend taking her to the vet today to be seen. If your regular veterinarian doesn't have Saturday hours, I would take her to your nearest emergency clinic. The vet there can do blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

I am sorry to hear about Blue. One thing we worry about in male cats exhibiting this behavior is a urinary blockage. It can make them lethargic, vomit, not eat, painful (drooling can be a sign of pain). If you aren't sure he is urinating normally or if you press on his lower belly and he is painful then we would be very concerned this could be his issue and this is a medical emergency and he should be seen right away.

Yes i would take her in to a clinic. Mobile vets are limited in what they can do diagnostically and treatment wise for sick pets. These sound like concerning symptoms. They can assess for a fever, dehydration, and pain. Likely bloodwork, felv/fiv testing, and xrays will be recommended as the first steps. I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at her for further testing to help determine what the problem is. She will likely need an antibiotic which your vet can prescribe and get her started on right away. I would also recommend testing her for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus (felv/fiv testing). I hope this helps guide you in the right direction.
