Why is my cat lethargic and drinking lots after being in heat?

my cat was just in heat and now she is lethagic,drinking a lot of water. is this normal

These signs could be due to a uterine infection. This presentation requires an immediate clinical examination at your local veterinarian to confirm or rule out this clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.

You should probably take her to the vet the first chance you get, i couldn't tell you what is causing these symptoms as these are very general symptoms which could occur with any disease, she will need to be checked by your vet in order to find out what is wrong with her before any treatment can be given.

If you think that they are not eating and seem a bit lethargic, it is a good idea to have them checked out by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would recommend having their blood tested in addition to the examination. They might also be dehydrated since it has been so hot out and may need fluids for rehydration. I hope this helps! Why is my cat in heat vomiting, crying, and not eating or moving?

Oh no, poor Shadow! She could be having a pyometra (infected uterus) event or another internal illness. None of these symptoms are normal for a cat in heat or just coming out or heat. And any cat that doesn't eat for more than a day should be examined by a vet because cats are masters at hiding diseaseand illness until they are really really sick. I would recommend taking Shadow in to be seen, examined and blood analysis ran to hopefully determine the underlying issue so that we know how best to treat her. Hopefully it is something your vet can deal with quickly so that we can get her feeling well again soon!

Some cats can develop a uterine infection after their heat cycle. it is recommended to take her to the vet in order check for an infection. in most cases it's recommended to spay her if this is indeed the cause. if she isn't eating at all since her cycle started it's very bad, a cat usually starts developing fatty liver if he stops eating for more than 3 days strait.

My cat is still lethargic, not eating after UTI meds. Should I worry?

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I am more concerned about the fact that she is not eating well and that needs to be further addressed as it is unlikely to be due to a urinary tract infection. I recommend that you have Luchadora reevaluated by your veterinarian on Saturday for further assessment and treatment. Keep in mind that if she is not feeling well, they may not proceed with vaccines that day. You may take in a urine sample that day. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
