My cat has a leg injury, won't eat, vet is unavailable. What to do?

However, with a history of possible trauma and the presence of blood then a fracture is possible. Just based on the presence of blood and the possibility of a fracture, I would highly recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This looks like some sort of skin injury. I recommend bathing the area in cool water with a mild anti bacterial shampoo. Rinse it well. Don’t put anything on the skin since cats will groom and lick off the medication making the skin worse and making the cat sick if it eats too much medication. I would offer fresh warm wet food often and fresh water so he won’t get dehydrated. If he is very painful or feels feverish then please take him in for a veterinary exam and treatment. I would recommend a vet visit for Snow. If he is not eating that may be a sign of fever or pain and being unable to move his paw indicates a potential serious problem. I would recommend trying to get him to the veterinarian today. After physical exam the vet may recommend doing x-rays based on their findings. I hope Snow is feeling better soon. Please keep this area clean so the skin will heal. I use hydrogen peroxide as it doesn't sting. You can then apply a thin film of antibacterial ointment on it. Luckily cats heal very well so as long as he is moving normally, is not in pain and the area doesn't get infected you do not need to him take him in. If he stops eating or the wound becomes infected or smells or he stops using the leg then take him in for an exam. However, this does warrant an evaluation as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. Poor cat! If the injury is serious as you say then kitty needs to be seen by your local vet for medical treatment and proper wound management. Depending on the nature of the injury, kitty may need sutures or staples, antibiotics and pain medication. Blood in the urine is a sign of stress, and weakness indicates that this kitty has a general illness such as infection going on that isn't being properly treated for. I seriously hope that your cat get the proper care soon and can recover from this unfortunate situation. It's a little difficult to see the wound in your picture, but it looks like there might be some discharge on Prince's fur. If he is painful enough that he can't walk I'd be concerned that the wound could be infected or even that it affects the bone. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Prince's leg - they might recommend taking an x-ray or may recommend antibiotics. If there's a large wound they might even recommend surgical repair.
