Is it normal for my cat with kidney disease to pee after fluids?

225ml is not a problem. A daily maintenance fluid for a cat would be 60 ml/kg. Your kitty weighs 12 lbs, which is about 5.5kg. So her daily maintenance would be 330ml. She actually may feel very good now, which is why she is using her scratching post and obviously is not nauseous but hungry. The extra fluid is likely flushing out toxins. So, no , you do not have to worry. Since you are giving the fluids under the skin, she will only pull in what she needs over time. Good luck with your kitty!

The hair on the tail and body (most commonly along the back) can stand up with any kind of stimulation. We most commonly see this in cats when they are fighting or playing and are very mentally stimulated, but it can also occur with other kinds of physical stimulation including some internal stimulation (which might be what happended when you gave him his fluids). I would suspect that the hair on the tail will go down relatively quickly. It may or may not occur when you give fluids again in the future. I hope that was helpful and answered your question. It is concerning that he is drinking and urinating excessively. Since he is so young, I am concerned he has a congential kidney disorder causing kidney failure. He should have an ultrasound of his kidneys to look for abnormalities. Call your vet and give him/her an update to let your vet know he is drinking and urinating excessively.

This isn't really something we monitor to be honest, so I don't have a good number for you. If he's not drinking much water or eating very wet food, he likely is getting slowly dehydrated if he's getting 200ml water subcutaneous and urinating that 200ml out, since he will lose water through his feces, breathing, skin, etc. I'd recommend letting his vet know what you're seeing, checking in on his kidney values, and consider increasing his fluid levels slightly. However, I wouldn't do this without guidance from his vet, because there are other issues he could have at the same time that would require taking a more moderated approach to the fluid amounts.

If you want him to urinate more often, you need to get him to drink more water or eat canned cat food. What goes in must come out. Animals won't hold it longer than they need to unless they can't urinate at all. If he can urinate, he will do it as often as his body needs to.

It can be normal if the bladder is empty. It could also be a sign that he is obstructed again. If he’s painful, not eating or his abdomen is firm and painful please take him right in for a recheck. If there’s no urine in another six to twelve hours then that is an emergency and he’ll need to be seen right away for treatment again. Yes, this can be normal. Urinary blockage effects a cat's entire system and can make them feel very poorly. When the catheter is removed there is usually a fair bit of inflammation due to the catheter having been in place. The fact that he is producing urine is a good sign. You want to see him continue and start to produce more and more. If he appears to get duller or stop urinating take him back to the vet.
