Does feline hyperesthesia hurt when I touch my cat? Can CBD help?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

if my cat has feline hyperesthesia, does that mean it hurts when I touch her? Is that why she never allows me to touch her? and would adding CBD oil to her food help? How do I add the oil? How many drops and how long for?

Hi. Yes it could hurt to touch more then a normal kitty. This is definitely something to run by the veterinarian that diagnosed her. CBD oil still has a lot of research on safety that needs to be done before we would recommend it. If you feel she is in pain, please contact your veterinarian for a pain plan to make her more comfortable
