My cat has a hole on her belly after a fight. What should I do?

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). The area should be shaved first and washed profusely with clean water. Disinfection can be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths twice daily. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching. Hi, I would recommend to have your cat checked over as she might need antibiotics and possible antinflammatories. Also it is worthy to have a look to see if it just a superficial injury or something more serious. Hope this helps !

The best things that you can do include cleaning the wound with an antiseptic soap (such as chlorhexidine or betadine) and keeping an e-collar (cone) on your cat to prevent any skin damage from scratching. This is a nasty wound. I would put Cheeru in the sink or tub and gently flush this wound with cool water until it is clean and all the discharge is removed. Then keep her inside in a small clean room with fresh bedding, food, water and litter. It looks like you may have put iodine solution on it as a disinfectant in the picture, which is fine. She will lick and clean this area so I don't like to apply ointment on it. You can take some hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and clean the area daily if needed. Draining watery, bloody fluid from the area is normal. Give her wet food with added water to make sure she doesn't become dehydrated. Luckily cats usually heal well when the wound is open and draining like this one. Expect this to take a few weeks to heal. It appears to be minor but without a close physical exam, this cannot be confirmed. Keep the area clean and dry. You can use a diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution to clean it daily. If you notice the other cat licking at it, separate them until it heals completely. If you notice Helia licking at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her until it heals.

I would highly recommend taking Bankai to a veterinarian. They can evaluate the extent of the wounds and see what type of treatment should be done. It depends all on what they look like. Mano should be examined by a veterinarian. Cat bites can quickly become infected which will require antibiotics for treatment. The puncture in her abdomen should be examined to make sure it did not puncture the abdominal wall. This would be a serious situation. The swelling near her tail could be a developing abscess. You can share pictures if you request a consultation, but Mano would be better served by a physical exam followed up with the appropriate veterinary treatments.
