My cat was hit, is lost, not eating, and drooling. What can I do?

I am so sorry to hear this! To answer your question- it depends on the severity of the injuries and the overall health of the cat. But the quality of life of the cat in question is the real concern. This sounds like a significant injury that no doubt is causing pain and distress. You did not state whether or not this is your cat, or a cat that is able to be caught, but I would highly recommend taking the cat to a veterinarian as soon as possible to relieve any suffering and hopefully treat the cat's injuries. If this is not possible, I recommend calling local animal control to see if they can assist. I hope this helps and the cat is on the road to recovery soon!

You can place his favorite food outside to try to entice him to come home and search the surrounding area. Maybe a neighbor has seen an injured cat. If there is a local veterinarian, ask if anyone has brought an injured cat to the hospital. I hope he returns home soon.

Hello. You should try to get her into a carrier, box, or something that will restrain her & get her to a veterinarian. If you cannot get her to the vet, she will quite sick if she is unable to eat. Poor guy. I would highly recommend taking him in to your vet for some bloodwork analysis. A cat that isn't eating is considered to be a serious thing, because cats are known to be masters at hiding illness, unless it is something serious going on. Drooling is a sign of nausea, which can be caused by just about every condition out there, so it is necessary to get some testing down to hopefully pinpoint the problem. I am not sure how deep the scrape on his nose is, but I would not consider it to be a factor in his current illness, especially if it is just a superficial wound that is not infected. If you cannot get him in right away you can try enticing him with some tuna and white rice or slightly warmed cans of baby food for now. But a vet visit is needed as soon as possible. You can try putting out food and your cat's litter box. This will sometimes entice them to come home. I would also check with your neighbors to see if they have your cat or have seen him. Once you find him he may need to go to the vet to be checked out since he has been attacked and since he was gone from home for so long. Good luck.

Oh dear, poor Meow! Since she is not moving, eating or drinking, my main concern is that she has experienced significant trauma in her travels, either from a long fall or being hit by a car. These traumatic events can cause major head trauma, rib fractures, or internal injuries that can be quite severe and painful. At this point, Meow needs to go to an emergency vet immediately for evaluation and treatment. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

Gum inflammation (gingivitis), tooth abscesses involving soft tissue and bone infection. This is most likely the cause of what you are seeing. It's also possible that there is an oral mass (tumor) in the mouth. I would advise trying to find a local cat rescue group in the area to help you with this guy. Many communities have a support system for these Community Cats. They will also help to get him neutered and vaccinated if there is such a program in your area. Reach out to the local groups and see if they can help with his care. There may be a low-cost clinic in your area willing to help with him. Good luck
